Purposes:

Unit area grain size and grain number is related to the size of the grains. The size of the grains has a decisive effect on the mechanical properties of tensile strength of the metal, toughness, ductility etc. Checking the material grain size can evaluate material properties.

Applications:

Steel, copper alloy, aluminum alloy, magnesium alloy, nickel alloy, titanium alloy etc.

Tested Flow:

Sampling→Cleaning→Inlaying→Grinding→Polishing→Etching→Observeing

Reference Standard:

GB/T 6394-2002 Metal-methids for estimating the average grain size

ASTM E112-2013 Standard Test Methods for Determining Average Grain Size
